No PBs for me, but I did get an SB today. (Some of the kids had a snow delayed start to school so I was able to row doing waking hours - what a difference )

10 km 38:40.5, it was 39:16.

David

Gotta be happy with that. I think long rows are doing me a hellavalottagood too.

After exactly 5 weeks of erging, I covered 15'345m in my best "lap of the clock" (60min).

You know you're ready to forge ahead when what once was extraordinary becomes (comparatively) routine....

Imagine what you could have done had you been pointing towards the time trial, or had someone like Inge De Bruijn been training on the next erg over

Good one, Sir Pirate!

New Marathon PB today, was 3:10:43.1, just did 3:07:43.4, 23 spm; stopped 3 times for short gulps of water, and once to have a one sentence phone conversation (my husband and kids called to say they were almost home from skiing, and I said, "there's no dinner, I'm doing a marathon" and hung up...
They are so supportive, and cooked me dinner instead!
1019 Nonathlon points

The last 6K really, really were awful. But I can't help thinking...only about 5 minutes more & I'll beat the 2001 40-49 record....

I'm now four days 40 years old. Today i did 1k. I beat my PB with 0,7 seconds.
I did it in 3:05:8.
So, it's my first ranking (17th) in 40-49. My old PB in 30-39 is deleted from the rankings. I think this is not right. It should stay there.
Not sure what to think of it, because my training seems to indicate that I should do better. But happy in general, since this puts me about 5 weeks ahead of my original goal when I started the Interactive Programme.

New 10k PB for me

Was 43.57.1

Now: 43.16 !

Looking back on my times, when I started rowing again in May 2004 my 10k time was 49:39.3 !!! and that almost killed me Now 43.57.1 seems like a walk in the park

Hope to break 43 and my first 1 million in the next 2 months.

Wahay! New PB over 500m. We did 5 x 500m sprints today in training as these were the first ones of the season with my new crew I went all out on the first one to prove to them what I could do and I got 1:54:3 (previous PB was 1:56). Being the first to complete I thought I'd set a target to beat, and beaten it was - several times!!! One girl managed to get 1:51 as her best (also found out she beat me on our 2k time trial yet she didn't make the first boat either as like me she was only rating 24!) and then my mate got 1:48 (but she was rating 40 and her technique was poor - unfort coach wasn't there to see this). Luckily, I also managed to keep all my other sprints at a reasonable time (2 more below 2mins, and 2 just over 2minute margin)

Never mind, I'm thrilled with my PB! Feel even more inspired now as just got back from hearing a talk by Matthew Pinsent and Barney (surname forgotten!) who stroked the Canadian Coxless fours to silver medal in Athens.
