They would probably also like knowing how many big fish and little fish they'd eaten and how many "lives" they'd lost.

My 3 boys did 44 fish games today. My husband did 13. I only did 3. I think you have a hit!

Schenley
I see the Brits are selling a PM3+ with a colour-screen!

Is a score of 1900 at 1:45 any "better" than a score of 2200 at 2:10?

Well, let's see with a couple suggested methods:

Meters as a factor adjustment:
2200 * (923m/1000) = 2031
1900 * (1143m/1000) = 2172 (Win)

Meters as a Straight adjustment:
2200 + 923(m) = 3123 (Win)
1900 + 1143(m) = 3043

Watts as a factor adjustment:
2200 * (159watts/100) = 3498
1900 * (302watts/100) = 5738 (Win)

Some real numbers to check this method.
2535 * (200watts/100) = 5070
1755 * (300watts/100) = 5265 (Win)
I've played 3 times and gotten eaten way too many times, so I really can't see this as being a possible "fair win" by this adjustment. With a straight adjustment this would be 2735 to 2055, still a clear win for the "strategic" approach.

Watts as a Straight adjustment:
2200 + 159(watts) = 2359 (Win)
1900 + 302(watts) = 2202

Having no idea if these are realistic soring differences or not, it's obvious that the "Watt factor" is clearly NOT useful, but the other three look promising as to a "fair" adjustments. i.e. The slower rowers still can score all the same fishes, but the faster rowers will have incentive to not loaf. (Though I don't think that Brawn is going to have a chance against brain in this case. But watching the brawny try should be a hoot.)

Thanks all for the Fish Feedback- I finally got around to putting it on my home erg (I usually row at work). I went for a run around the neighborhood (been awfully warm here in Vermont for February) this afternoon and then did a couple of Fish Games to cool down. First one was an 1800, the second was a new PR of 2580! Oh, and Paul, my average pace was 2:30.........JonW

Got another PR on the Fish Game. Mark Lyons (who co-owns the company that has has worked with us on all the PM3 development) temporarily knocked me off the top rung with a 2625 this evening. Not to be outdone, I managed a 2730 a little while ago.
Granted we're both a couple of ringers in this, but I figure it's just a matter of time before a lot of people figure the Fish Game out. I think you're beginning to get it now. Are you going to be at CRASHB? I plan to be there doing some booth time and maybe rowing- still recovering from a torn AC ligament in the shoulder.....JonW
