Most noteably (spelling?) my damper setting. I went into BIRC '02 with a damper setting of 180. Didn't know any better at the time, I was completely self taught up to this point (but of course I've gone through this about a million times on the forum since '02). I got some great coaching from Mike Teti, Lisa Schlenker, Jamie Schroeder, to name a few.

What did you change your damper setting to? What is the reason the new setting is better than the old?

Any other changes you made that are as easily expressed in this forum that you don't mind sharing?

I went from a 180 to a 120 damper setting.

The basic thing to do in any erg race, is to keep the fly wheel spinning as fast as possible. The way the damper works, is to allow (or not allow) air into the fly wheel housing. The more air you let in, the faster the fly wheel slows.

Unless you're keeping a high SR during your piece, having a higher damper setting will require more energy to get the fly wheel back up to the desired speed. This, obviously, can have a negative effect over a 2k distance.

But...lowering the damper setting requires some other technique changes. Most notably is the speed required coming out of the catch and during the drive. This was something I also had to work on (I got alot of help from Lisa during this period - Thanks again Lisa).

Hope that answers your question.

Dwayne

He said he would row a 2000m using a PM3 IND_V code which he did. He also said he would also get a photo of him rowing it and one of the display when he had finished it, C2 got sent the IND_V code but we have not seen any photos.

Also, a number of people have asked for information about the row, like splits, stroke rate and how it was paced, yet no information has come forward.

If you were aware of the whole history of Dwayne posting times on the rankings compared to what he does in races then you would see where I am coming from.

No, I understand when you are coming from. I just don't understand why you wrote an apology to Dwayne on January 23rd, including statements that he had "proved" something to you, and in other posts you wrote that he had taught you a lesson. Did he prove something to you and teach you a lesson or not? If, in order to prove something to you, you needed to see pictures, splits, etc., then why did you not wait until you had seen those before issuing that apology? That seems very strange.

You lot are so naive, if you only knew what I now know. I said it is over for me today as it has now been confirmed to me what I originally set out to do. So in my own mind I am now happy.

You carry on believing what you want to believe, one day you will remember what Chad said and wonder why you did not stop and listen.

My work here is know done.

This is Chad signing out

I agreed with you that some of Dwayne's achievements seemed suspicious, but this or anyone's naivete has nothing to do with the fact that you apologized genuinely, stated that Dwayne had proved you wrong, and that Dwayne had taught you a lesson, and then again questioned his credibility? Refusing to answer the substance of my post just demonstrates that you have no response, and I get the last word here.

Most people don't seem to care, but the ones that like to see him race are mostly the fastest one. They now that being good at something means having to work very hard for that, and those people mostly do have a drive to show that. There are exceptions but they are rare.

A nice saying is: Does who don't show up you also couldn't beat.
Dis whole fargin somanumbatch topic has gotten out of hand. I say let the miserable cork-sucking basteeges rot in their fargin stew. The fact that the topic is still going shows me that they're fargin iceholes and probably have had their bells in a sling since birth. Fargin somanumbeeches. Don't make me pull out the 88 magnum.

My mother questioned my integrity once...once.
