Niall - Let's see some fighting talk and give Dougie a push for the 1st team skinny spot. Besides you've now got that magic HR monitor that will obviously just reduce your time by simply wearing it

Phil T - You can get under 21.00 for the 6k my friend - with a 6.25 2k you should have a good chance of doing that.

If we're struggling for female rowers, do you think we could get away with putting in Ramboyo or Grumpy down as women? Russia and East Germany used to get away with it in athletics during the 80's

As Chris "The Tart" Adams said let's try and get a couple of teams in amongst the more established teams and show them what we can do - if "The Tart" has suddenly found his motivation again - we can't let him down or he'll have another excuse for packing in again

If I manage to beat him then it'll be a PB for 5K aswell as 6K!!

Gotta be worth it though.
Stay tuned!

By the way, I 've got a new RHR (Resting Heart Rate); 44bpm! I'm surprised I was conscious at that rate!

If I were you I'd wait until next week before having a crack at it. Then you'll be able to attack it.

In fact, I think it's against the rules, to prevent "tactical placement". Instead, the fastest 5 people that qualify become the first team (including at least one woman and one LWT), then the next 5 become the second team, and so on.
I had two attempts at the 6k, a week apart, and took off about 30 seconds, so I'm hopeful that I'll be able to knock off another decent chunk before December's out.

My quest for LWT isn't going so well, though. After being 12/7 last week, I was 12/9 this morning. *sigh* I just don't understand WTF my body does with the food I eat. I haven't been over-indulging to any great extent. Very depressing, really, and it makes me think "to h*** with it". But I've entered EIRC as a LWT now, so that's £9.50 written off if I don't make it.
Had a crack at this again.

21.07.9... Much better, puts me around 16th.

Perhaps sub 21Mins is achievable...

Great challenge its adding good metres and keeping the interest going.
