I managed a tube (12inches/30cm) of Haribo jelly sweets yesterday! Plus about 5 litres of sports drink and about 30 jaffa cakes

Niall - just read your diary.

I Had a crap race too.
Nerves, a cold pryor to the race and the notorious BIRC
dry throat syndrome...

Within 10 secoonds of starting my expected 1:39.6 ave
read 1:43.5 and so I just resigned myself to finishg the race
although after 750 in I seriously considered putting the handle
down although I knew that if I did that it would be the end for me
at this rowing lark and Monty (my erg) would find himself on Ebay...

Tomorrow is another day and Cardif is your chance to
have another bite at the cherry on home turf...

Today is the first day of your BIRC 06 training...

Cheers Mate

Garf

Easily spotted cos of all the Sub 7 shirts.

Darin tracked us down after my race and I think we may get him to row in a comp next.

Next time. Pictures. Nominated T shirts full names and Mobile numbers, it's the only way.

Hey, I just realised, you were in the same ruddy race as me! 2 rows in front and off to my left hand side. That's bad planning on our part, you missed out on the Jaffa Cakes .. (er, cake, I only had one, honnest )
[

Haha. Okay. It's even dafter as I was sat with my wife a bit higher up and off to the right in the block of seats in front of the podium. Had a great view of the 5:44. And also the nutter in one of the BUSA events doing barefoot rowing (that had to hurt).

I actually had a look for you on F8 after the race but you'd legged it. Think I'll need to get myself back to the opticians as I didn't spot a sub7 tshirt all day

After the race, once the coughing had subsided, I opted for the performance athletes diet of chocolate, crisps and coffee.

Oddly, the dude with his back to the camera looks exactly like me. Though I'm pretty sure it wasn't. Maybe I just blew out my eyeballs trying to read that tiny yellow script. Who's in between Ant and Garf? Also, why is Grinyer looking so pissed off? Questions, questions.

TEAM CHALLENGE NEWS UPDATE

Some of the UK Forumites have been discussing a challenge that all teams could participate in. Details are as follows:

Cross Team Challenge Initiative

Sounds like a great idea to me so what do you think?
There needs to be at least one male LWT and one female entry so can all Lwts and those of the fairer sex please see if you can put an entry in for each challenge.

It's going to kick off in December with an unrestricted 6K (that should please most I would imagine). So, are we up for it?? I know I am!
