Training
Monday i had a new PB for 2K, Tuesday new PB for 500m and today 1K. Old time was 3:17:8 and today 3:13:3.<br>In the ranking from place 69 to 45! 4th of Holland.

I went for a 30min PB today. Plan was to row it at 1:45 pace. Got to the gym and thought maybe that was not a good idea as I have been doing intervals for around the last 7 weeks.<br>It was far more sensible to row it at a slower pace and bring it down over the coming weeks.<br><br>Rowed it at a flat 1:47 pace from start to finish, no problems at all. <br>New pb of 8404m at 28spm.<br>Will row it at 1:46 next week.<br><br>Sir Pirate<br><br>

Yesterday i did a slow 5k. Then 20 minutes the steptrainer and after that i challenged some guy for a 500m.<br>I won in my first sub 1:30. I did it in a new PB: 1:29.7. <br>Today i did 2k warm up and then tried again 500m. Now in 1:29:3.<br>I moved from place 76 to 62 on the ranking.

Wow! That was a lot of frustation To beat your PB by so much it quite something. (And at a pace I can barely do for 500 m, let alone 5000 m.)

Today i did 2K in 6:46:4, my old time was 6:50:2<br>I moved from 115 to 83 on the ranking!<br><br>It's getting boring, everytime i row i have a PB. When it's gonna stop?

However, the body can't handle all out efforts on a daily basis especially now that you have some very good times. Your PBs will likely stop as soon as your body becomes over worked from rowing too hard too often. <br><br>I won't let the athletes I train go for a true all out PB more often than every two weeks. It may not be as much fun to some as PBing all the time, but I tell them they're in it for the long run.

Inspired by Dwayne Adams' 109k to keep up the Taff Attack's collective meter production while everyone else was racing at BIRC, I decided to try to get to the 100k level of the Holiday Challenge on the first day. Glacially slow, at 9:25:00, and I'll cheerfully agree with everyone who says so, just as soon as they row 100k any faster <br><br>For anyone crazy enough to try it who hasn't done something over a few hours yet, I'll share my two lessons from the experience:<br><br>1) duct tape is your friend. save time and aggravation and wrap your fingers with it before starting. I wish I'd thought of it about 50k earlier! Bandaids don't really cut the mustard...<br><br>2) smear vaseline or some other slippery substance anywhere you're going to have the possibility of skin-to-skin contact. You'll need a shower after 5+ hours on the erg anyhow <br><br>Company more stimulating than a sleeping cat will probably make the hours go by a bit quicker. Also, do the intelligent thing and do it just after waking up, don't follow my example and start when you normally start thinking about going to bed!

ow i got a new pb on 2k today 6.29.3 wee me so happy ehehe<br><br>now i got the technique down better after i joined a rowing club they showed me sum usefull stuff

Today in the first half of a 2X5000 with 5 minutes rest interval, made a 18:59 for the 5K.

I'm trying to feel really comfy while rowing a 10K in under 38:30. Now I'm splitting the distance in 2X5000 with 5 minutes rest, since find it more interesting and can row harder. Hope it will help me to build stamina.
