Trimmed the boat with Polaco, so only 4k on the coxless pair for yesterday.
Will have a rather light week, and next sunday: my first (running) marathon!

Just 11k for me today. 7k of which at 20SPM and reasonable 'quality' (not that the rest were 'junk').

You can try to maximize the meters per stroke to make it harder and less boring. The other sub 20 spm rates are not as easy, since they involve fractions of seconds. I have tried 10 spm, but (with the PM1) the numbers go crazy if the rate drops a bit below. I haven't tried it yet with a PM3, so I don't know if that records sub 10 values or not.

Bob S.

I have to pull really hard to feel much resistance at all Consequently, I think I'm pulling too fast. I wonder if that needs changed? I've been leaving it on 3 since I'm just starting rowing and that seems to be the general advice - start at 1-3 on the draft.

tj

You guys kill me. I just started the challenge for this year yesterday. 7500 meters per day.

That said, I was out deer hunting for several hours each morning.... Trudging around in the snow feels like work sometimes. Sunday is the last day of season so I should be able to pick it up for two sessions a day. in '03 I worked up to 20km a day by the end.

Since I had the day off, I managed 2 sessions today for 11,500 meters. I think that's a good start.

I rowed quite a bit this summer also because I can't swim where I work now and needed to do something for my upper body.

If its really your first week I would suggest you try going easy one day and longer the next. Your distances will depend on your fitness level. Coming off the cycling season in fall I am in great cardio shape but have very little upper body mass, for example, therefore rowing is quite hard till the back and arms get built up..

Tomorrow morning I am going to row 30 minutes before the workout I lead at 715AM. I am looking forward to release some built up energy.
