Seen it played on TV and heard the hits at games I've seen live. Very tough!!

However....because of all that padding, American football becomes all that much tougher. That puts both rugby and American football to shame.

Totally different sports subject. I saw (on TV) a few years back a 'game' that just blew me away. It's a Brit thing I believe.

Dwayne

Both sports have about half the team sitting on the bench at any given time. Also, about 80% of the team that isn't sitting on the bench is standing in the field chewing gum or scratching. You get about as much exercise playing chess!

QUOTE (Sir Pirate @ Sep 20 2004, 02:43 PM)

Oh, I would not call golf a “sport” it’s more of a long walk with a stick

Someone once said something to the effect: Golf is a long walk ruined.

Paul Flack
You probably need to explain to most of us Yankees why everyone in the Royal Military would have "Golf is a long walk ruined" tatooed somewhere on their body!

I wasn't able to see the Royal Military Tatoo whilst in England, but heard that it is great.

Paul Flack

Easy on the Rugby-American football thing. As a former Naval Air Commnad first 15 and Outside Linebacker for the Penzance Pirates. I can safely say that Rugby is a lot tougher.

The only thing with US Football was the potential for blindsided hits. In Rugby, for the most part, you had a vauge idea who was going to hit you ( exception to this was Crusher Clark of Cambourne, who would punch you any time, any place)
