I don't think of myself as slow, but I still can't figure out what this thread is about. On the supercanoa site, it suggests this is for Oct 2006, or does the reference to Germany hosting the "Fifa World Cup" not have anything to do with this thread (and maybe refers to soccer or something). When would the online racing start?

Is this for online racing with erow or rowpro? When you sign up as a tester, what are you testing? What is the supercanoa race server and how does that work?

It looks like fun, although if it is now, I probably wouldn't want to row. Next fall would be fun, and I would think there can and should be more than 1 USA team.

Sorry Michael

10.02 means for me Feb 02
I made the correction, in many countries we write first the day and then the month

The rules are online
You may row in any server you want
You row when you want but 1. online and 2. From Fr. 08:00GMT to Mo. 08:00GMT
A country can have more than one rower but they don't row in Team
We will have something as USA1, USA2, Germany1, Germany2, ...

Here is an example about how would be the schedule taking the model of the
FIFA World Cup:

http://www.world-foot.com/article-1457619.html

We will row compact in the weekend. Tomorrow I will calculate and to sort the
groups for this weekend

I have only wait list, we have all the 8 groups completed
The main thing is to have fun

Marilyn

Hi dear Rowing friends:

The groups are ready. Here are some answers for the people that don't understand
the event:

Organization of the groups: Analog the FIFA I created 8 groups: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H

I ordered the participants considering their estimated times and with the age gender weight adjusts, I made 4x groups of 8 rowers (The 1. 8 best times, the 2. 8 best times...)
I put in a bag 8 piece of papers: (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H)
I took one (for example H) and I put there the one of the 1. 8 best times
and go on
Then I mixed the piece of papers again and the same method with the 2. 8 best times and go on
Now in each group there are rowers in 4 different performances

You don't row in team, you row as individual. After 3 races, we will select the best 16 rowers for the 8. finals (2 rowers from each group), then the 8 best rowers for the 4. finals, then the best 4 rowers for the semi final and then the final with 2 rowers

I am following the schedule from FIFA:
look at page 2 from here:
Match Schedule

For example: This weekend I have to be faster with my adjustments as Johnny Hossell Brasil
In my second race I have to get faster than in my 1. race in comparison with
Phil Morris United Kingdom and his 1. race

In the 1. race we try to be so fast we can, in teh 2. race we try to be better than in the 1. race. We can check our opponnnents and maybe we can develope a strategy, what fast should I be to win? It is your problem

Questions before we start?

Marilyn

In few words, the members of your groups are your opponents,
not your team friends

I will setup 2 main races on the SC Race Server and on the Rowpro Race Server
You can create your own races at your desidered time in the race interval

I will check the posted races that they are online, etc

Marilyn

I'll try this question for the third time. I understand that Marilyn and I may not be communicating that well because of language issues, but I am genuinely curious and interested.

What is the supercanoa race server, and how does it work? Does someone need erow or rowpro to access it? Or is this a new third way to race online? Does the supercanoa race server/software allow rowers with rowpro to join in?

thanks.

Marilyn,
I saw my group and my races for the first weekend.
Do I have to race online against my opponents or can I row by myself and compare the time to the other rower's?
I might row on Rowpro (online) so my race result will be available online.
Thanks, Holm
