I love fried food, certainly including french fries, but am unclear about the chip buttie. Are you putting butter on fried potatoes? Or are they baked or something else, rather than fried? I am not sure I would want them in a roll - just eat them as is.

David
Carla,
Although here in the US a conservatory means a music school, it also means an indoor, garden room. Growing up in southern California there was no such thing, because the weather doesn't require such a thing, but in, for instance in Pittsburgh and Cincinnati, there are large, public conservatories, for displaying all kinds of plants year round, even though many of the plants shown couldn't live outside in those cities.

David
Who'd have thought on an indoor rowing forum we'd have a thread discussing the science of chip butties?!

Only "in" Wales!

YES!!!!!

I did the )(**)&((&)*(&)* marathon. Stopped 4 times for quick sips. My back was sore to start with and just got more so as I went on. Started out following my plan of holding 2:20, and then by about 10K was doing about 2:17. Stayed that way until the half way point and then slowly upped it sort of by accident. By the time I was done I was doing 2:10, for a short while 2:05, finished with a sprint around 2:00 somewhere for a finish time of

3:10: 43.1

and ended up #1 in the rankings (I'm sure that won't last, but it's fun for now!) Probably somewhere in the 900's for Nonathlon so that will get rid of my horrible 2K score.

Meanwhile I am very lame.....tired.....but euphoric!

Carla

I can't make colors or fonts work for some reason, so you'll have to imagine this whole post in huge letters, bright red!!!

Thankyou for that history lesson Graham, i believe the actual phrase was,"you dont want to come here sonny you want to go down Wiscos on the bacon slicer"(wiscos being the local butchers). To all fellow Taffians, you may have worked out that i have prefered the fuller figure look through my life, enjoying beer, chip butties with "ketchup butt?"( a phrase you can hear around most burger vans on a saturday), but there are a few of the greyhounds on this site who have been left in the dust on the mountain bikes, by the pig, hen eht. Time will tell? Anyhow i cant go to ramboyos without having to take in the very blood of Scotland.

Have to go pans going to catch fire!
Poooorky.

Thaks Bee,i do tend to get confused, it must be a reaction to the non- attendance at the bat cave for a weight session from both you annd Chippy. Never mind as Led Zeppelin sang "The song remains the same"
Nos da Tiger.

Carla, absolutely brilliant - well done. I won't get near that time and if I can get inside 3:30 I'll be so pleased. Well done though, superb effort.
