That's AWESOME, Marie! And you did a lot of rowing in one day to get to 1 MM! I still have my 1 MM certificate where I can look at it whenever I need some inspiration.

Way to go!

Emilia

What sort of media do you work with?

Thanks for the reminder, Dougie! I've got to get some of that transfer paper at the store.

And Tbaugh--I'm a recovered workaholic!

Seriously, got majorly burned out early in my career, during the time of the catchphrase, "work smarter, not harder." My former employer (owner of the clinic and the managed care association--BAD combo!) took that to mean that if I could do that, there should be no physical limitations to the number of patients I could see in an hour. I decided it was better to be poorer and happy. But I sure miss all those expensive toys I used to get. Didn't really do me any good though, because I never had time to play with them.

Take any time you need to breathe. It'll be worth it!

--Jen in WI

Just done my last row for the other January challenge (CTC - 30 minutes at 20spm) so now clear to rack up some more metres for Fowl Play. Planning another 12k or so this evening then 20k for Sunday (while thinking about the competition up in Manchester) and probably 12-15k on Monday and Tuesday depending on work and family commitments. Then rest (or maybe not! )

Just a few short days to go team, lets give it one last push (ouch - that reminded me of childbirth for some reason! - Well it can't be any more painful than that girls!)

We're down to the last few days, O Fowlish Ones!

Anyone have any big rowing events planned? I've been rowing like crazy these last few days to get my goal of 200K in for the challenge, being as I was sidelined for a tad with my cold. I think I've got about 16K left to go, but I won't be able to row on Tuesday. I'm going to do another shorter workout tonight, then finish up the rest tomorrow. Didn't quite get my HM done yesterday like I wanted to, either.

Oh well, on to the next challenge!

I'm so impressed with some of the Fowl Players at the top of the meter board who have just piled on the meters! Way to go, folks!

--Jen in WI

Hi Jen..
I have enjoyed reading all of your posts here at the forum. They have given me a great deal of motivation too. This challenge has given me energy and a certain drive that has made me set higher goals for myself.I will need to rest a day or two after Tuesday before I continue to log meters...maybe I will run or do my Elliptical to cross train.I finished my 3rd Million Meter goal with the challenge and I am over half way to my 4th Million now. Thanks to the Ducks ..a great team..you especially..who always made my reading a pleasure!!This has been a great venue to make friends all over the USA..!!..

Pat..also known as QWACKY..the Wacky Duck

Aw, shucks, Qwacky! You're turning me into a pink Duck!

Nice job on hitting those goals, girl. I'm always in awe of folks who can really pull those meters, especially so many in a day/week/month like this. Some of the numbers on the board are just incredible. And Fowl Play has been great fun, and lots of folks have impressed me there, too!

You're right though, this challenge has been a great motivator. And it seemed to bring all kinds of nice people out from all over the U.S.A and the WORLD. Isn't it amazing what one piece of exercise equipment can do? I'm sure the whole "behind the scene" thing is more complex than that, and OTW rowing has a big impact, too. Maybe the folks at C2 should run for president, hey? Or better yet, maybe a U.N. spot. Seriously, I sure appreciate what they do to get things like this going.

And then, they give us the free FISH GAME! I think I'm addicted to the thing....

Did over 22k today, and that's a lot for me. I've only got 4500 meters more to go to hit my goal for the challenge. Maybe I'll do it all in Fish Game meters tomorrow!

GO FOWL PLAY!!

--Jen in WI
