Hello, I have found some research on a few supplements that do work, and won't cause death (joke!), I use them myself. <br><br>Most of the fat-burning supplements that are on the market are terrible, ephedra was the only one that really worked however,<br><br>CLA - conjugated Linoelic Acid - a natural substance (fatty acid) taken from full-fat dairy products, the supplement is not as cheap as creatine but it works very well. In one study, a group of men in 12 months lost 8.7 percent of their body fat taking 2 grams a day with no exercise or change in diet. <br><br>CALCIUM! This is perhaps the biggest breakthough and biggest surprise in the battle for weight loss, over thirty studies-medical standard (double-blind, placebo controlled, randomized). Calicum, but more importantly dairy products, milk was the most used. Most studies show dramatic weight loss, to give you an example, people who consume 3-4 servings (1 cup per serving) of dairy products weight 60 percent less on average than those who don't. There is more good news, stomach fat is even more reduced. <br><br>It appears to work by limiting the ability of fat cells to grow and make more fat cells, through a newly discovered hormone called calcitrol. The only disadvantage is if you already eat 1,500 mg of calcium a day, and the best results are from dairy products and lower fat dairy products, ie. 1% or .5%. You will lose weight if you take a calcium supplement however not nearly as much. <br><br>One more that works, green tea, that's right, green tea, scientists have discovered a new compound in green tea (black tea doesn't work) called ECCG, it raises the metabolism by 6-7% on average every day if you drink 2 strong (strong) cups a day. For instance my calories eaten are 3,200 calories a day, that's close to 300 calories burned extra just by me drinking green tea. I have it with sweetner, it's an acquired taste. The other great thing about green tea? Has more antioxidants that almost any other food source, it's proven to reduce cancer risk, but it will stain your teeth green just like tea or coffee.
