Not so much advise, but what Mike Teti said to the first USIRT team.<br /><br />"It's just rowing, nobody cares."<br /><br />I've repeated that quote many times throughout the past few years when asked why rowing isn't a bigger sport, or why rowing doesn't get funding, or 'what's sculling?', etc.

As the matter of fact, it is even more misterious when you think about the amounts of PAIN it supposes. OTOH, there aren't so many girls around (as in soccer or basketball, for instance), and, as Dwayne Adams said... people just don't care about it. The most positive thing they might say about rowing is that it is something about a complete sport... generally speaking, they will ask you twice about what you are talking about (maybe in the uk it's a bit different).<br /><br />AM
