The jet engine and the hot air remarks reminded me of a paddle on the Potomac near National (Now Reagan) airport many years ago. It was a very hot, still day. As I paddled by the airport and saw something very unusual - a wind surfer who was moving with good speed. I paddled over to talk to him and found out with one jet taking off every minute, there was plenty of hot air at the end of the runway for windsurfing.
