In the fall series online race this morning, a new PB in the 6k: 22:27.6, down from 22:42 over the summer in the summer racing series. I have been mainly focused on losing weight to get to lightweight (3 lbs to go), so it is nice to see that I haven't lost any speed and have probably gotten faster. My 5k at only .4 in pace faster, now looks weak.<br /><br />Looking forward to trying something shorter in the 1k coming up.

You should sign-up on the UK forum, there's quite a few ladies (Cathy, Carole, Emma, Jemma, Jane, Jenny and Janice are regulars) who post on there.<br /><br />BTW, some of us aren't all that hulking, I'm only 5'7.5" (173cm) and 73.2Kg (lightweight).

Check out the Sub 7 thread on the UK forum, a fair few female members in there including Little Weed is sounds comparable to you. I think we have a new World Recorder holder with Tracy (can't remember her surname) in the 1 mile race at Newark today. Well,I finally found a digestible workout sandwich. Perhaps because it was built into the schedule. Today's (i.e. Saturday's) program called for a warmup with included power strokes followed by a sequence of 3k, 2k, and 1k. On the 2k, I started out rather pokey, but felt pretty good around halfway through and decided to go for broke. The result was an 8:38.2, better than 3 seconds under my previous best here at home.<br /><br />Bob S.

hallo there.<br /><br />Looking on the internet I found this site. nice <br />I am a man 38 years off age. End 90 's I rowed some competitions. 1.86 97 kg<br /><br />pb's<br /><br />1 k 2.56,9 Not 100% pb<br />2 k 6.14.7 <br />6 k 20.18<br />30 min 8718 meter I think my best in comparison with the other results.<br /><br />I could never train 100% du to back problems. Those became worse and I had to stop. Now after 5 years, backsurgery and a little bit off training I a trying to get in an better shape.<br />I rowed a bitt last month and can row 6.50 on a 2000 en 18.20 on the 5 k 30 min 8000m<br /><br />My goal for march 2006 is to scalpe those time's with 3/4 sec per 500 m.<br /><br />I train 3 / 4 times a week. rowing 20/30 k per week. My first goal is to get my longer distances in a better shape. I have to be carefull with higher speedes, this in relation with my weak back .<br /><br /><br />Tip for a good workouts. <br />max heartrate minus rest heartrate x 90 % plus your restheart rate. Do once a week a 5 k <br />and 1/2 time's a week a 3 x 1500 or 4 x 1200 or x 1000 rest 5 minutes. <br /> <br />example max 190 rest 50 so 140 range x 90 % = 126 plus 50 makes 176. this is the goal for your heartfrequentie and the end off the trainings<br /><br /><br />Do this during around your competitionperiode and your results will rappidly improve.

Training
Set off today to do a steady 30:00 row @ 1:56 pace, when previous PB was 7818m @ 1:55.1 pace.<br /><br />Today: 7866m @ 1@54.4. 26SPM.<br /><br />A bit surprised that knocking 0.7 off the 500m pace only gains me 48 metres, but I suppose every little helps...
