Just got the replacement "blue" handle---but I can't get the old "C" handle off. The bolts are embedded in the wooden center. Before I take a hammer or saw to it--is there any easier way to remove it?

Lightly tap the u-shaped bolt with a hammer at the round part and the nuts will come clear of the handle. You may then take off the nuts and change the handle.

I have about 3.5mil meters on a decrepit C at the gym, and 500k on a new D with the new handle at home. Never had blisters, calluses, or pain in the palm till using the new handle.
Hank Greenblatt

But if you want to change handles then I recommend a rubber mallet instead of a hammer.
