this evening: 14 km at 1:49.3, 22 spm.
will try to build up to my first 1/2 marathon over the next 2 weeks one last time, aiming to mantain average splits at 1:50.0 and 22 spm.
low temperatures (just above 0 degrees) should favour long pieces.

Thanks for the link Dougie. I decided to order the socks because they will be more useful than a glass. Besides, I am aiming to do the marathon early next year, so I will get a glass for that one.

120' of swimming this morning.... according to rowing canada, 5 minutes of cross training = 1 km of erging. so this morning is the equivalent of 22km of erging.

Would be very willing to but being an old bugger, never get the chance.

Now, this is a serious thead, beats all this cr*p about 10K @ 2K +6 etc.

nope. no way im driving 10+ hours for a session in the tanks...

me and a few friends will head down to belleville. that'l be fun ROADTRIP

yeah this is the glebe training schedual that i have been doing.

last night we had a storm. couldn't make it out to the gym for the morning so i went to use the school's ergs(all 2 of them). neither had batteries so i just went for an hour and kept hr at 155. set up a mirror too so i could keep technique in check. oh, and we went a played pickup hockey after

this morning was an 8k race plan... prep for next week's 6k erg test. I did horribly lol. i held 1:56.5 without a start. rate was 26. after that we had to go to the club to shovel a passage way for the truck and trailer. the fours are going down to Hudson to get redone.

now the real workout; christmas shopping!!
Training
today 30 min strapless rate 24 pace 148.8 8272 meters. Did it inside bit warm. pfffff
in 1 k out 2 k.

Found some old trainingslogs. Saw my former rowing on the erg. It looked very hoopfull. I almost couldn't believe what I saw. In those days I was mosly focused on weighttraining. I rowed a on average 3 times a week. no more than 20/25 max. very little longer than 10 min in a row. Did 4 times a week heavy weighttraining. I run a bit and bikes and stepped a few times a week.

My first 2k and first times on the erg, was 6.39, 1 month later 1 rowed 6.31, 6 weeks there fter a 6.19 and 4 weeks later my pb 6.14.7. In the next week I rowed 30 min 8711 meters. My pb.
In between a couple off 1 k between 2.56 and 2.59.
this was in 97/98.

I am older now the 40 is not that far away anymore and had lost off fysical problems with my back. Got a few operations.
But maybe it's not imposible to see those times again next year. Althoug I have to be carefull.

At the moment the rowing goes fine and this week it's the 1oth week I row again. Sofare I made it to 300k.
My first row was this time again a 2 k. It was a 6.55. So I have to come from quit far.
My goal for march 2006 was 6.30. Although I haven,t tried it yet I think I am not that far off anymore. nice.
