Training
Rowed 10K last night.<br /><br />Rowed 2*6200m 5:00r<br />Started a third interval and gave up after ~2,200. <br /><br />Rested a bit longer <br />Rowed 10K<br /><br />Total for the session 24,698; which takes me through 300,000 in the last two weeks. <br /><br />I've also gone through 2,000,000 metres this week. <br /><br />Three days off now. No rowing or cycling until Monday morning. Sunday is a trip to see Santa at Paulton's Park - that should be a "hoot hoot".<br /><br />(UK website is still offline.)

Woke up with a head full of phlegm and spent most of the morning sneezing and coughing, so I must have caught the current bug going around. Spent 15 minutes in the steam room after my workout to try and clear my head.

Yesterday I did 40min at the following stroke rates:<br />1st 10min @ 18spm<br />2nd 10min @ 20spm<br />3rd 10min @ 22spm<br />4th 10min @ 24spm<br />Avg for 40min=1:59.7 <br />Meters = 10030<br />First time I ever did above 10k meters for training.

I'd vote for allowing the Great British public to carry weapons for the sole purpose of eliminating the greys.

Still got a cold, and my temperature was quite high before I started. Bit disappointed, so did an extra 5Kr20...<br /><br />5Kr20 - 22:51.4, 2:17.1, 20, 145<br /><br />Quite pleased with the 5K, even though I wasn't going fast. Nice to hold the rate steady and keep my pulse around 145 all the way through.

I don't post much, but my erging season has just finally gotten underway(normally 1x) and I was pleased with this week's erging this early in my winter season. My wife is very supportive but the numbers don't register with her. So I thought I'd share with some other ergers...<br /><br />Yesterday<br />warm-up<br />3x10' rest 6'<br /> 2906 1:43.1 @26 (~6k pace)<br /> 2944 1:41.9 @27<br /> 2944 1:41.9 @28<br />cool-down<br /><br />Was set to be low 1:41's on the third and started to fade with 4minutes to go. But still looks like my 6k needs to be updated...<br /><br />Today<br /> 20k <br /> 75:03.1 1:52.6 @22<br /><br />Set the monitor on 20k and do the warm-up en-route. So I was pleased to cruise through 1:52 @22 without too much trouble as this is a hard SS workout(aka UT1 for those who use that terminology). <u>not</u> pushing for time.<br /><br />stay warm.<br /><br /> Ben - LM27

I did about 15K with Xeno and Lucas (Xeno's DVD's.) Then I installed my new special handle on the C2 that lets me feather and see the blade position. I can feel when "the oar drops down into the oarlock," and I did a few more kilometers on the C2. OK, tap down with the blade square then quickly "go around the corner." While rolling into the catch, slowly feather the blades back to square. No flip-catch for me. It's very satisfying to see the blades release on the square, and to see the blades enter on the square. I have a mirror in front so I can watch the feathering. I do crazy things when the river is frozen. The handle, like most of my projects, is rather simple and made from hardware store materials.<br /><br />If there is any interest in my latest handle, maybe I can make a video.<br /><br />Byron
