Just a question! How can I get unstuck from base mode. I have been rowing at 22-24 spm for 3-4 mounts now. And just 3 weeks ago my coach started to make me do sprints. I have been hating it so much because on a 2k I cant get more than a 28-9 SPM. That drives me nuts because by the 750 to go mark its heavy on me and its also hard. I run out of gass . I have had parcial succses last week when i did a 1500 at a 34-6 . But today I had an indoor race and i was doing 28-29SPM and died at 600 to go. Finished last in my heat with time of 7:16.7 . Lame.... I was shooting for 7:10! Any way I have been pushing my self prety hard. I started rowing only about 1.5 years ago and I was so out of shape I could not have done 500m w/o stoping even if my life depended on it. Last jan. my time for a 2k was 7:34? Is that a good improvment? I am 16 HW at 78-80kg and bout 5 feet 7' inches.
