Just finished 5K at 2:09 pace , a good improvement over my 2:19 about 8 weeks ago. Mostly at AT, although last 500 at AN. Started a fitness program about ten weeks ago, using the erg to try to undo about 15 years of relative inactivity. I am encouraged!

OH Dear!!. Was doing a 3K piece today and was going OK. Went through 2000m in 6:36.2 Few metres later I got cramp in my toes and left ankle so had to drop the pace down to a virtual stop took a good few hundred metres for it to go. I then had to try and speed it back up again.

Was still happy with the result though, considering
1st 1:38.8
2nd 1:39.6
3rd 1:39.3
4th 1:38.5 was just going to stark upping the pace a tad.
5th 2:03.0.......ouch
6th 1:42.1......Ooops.

Never mind

Sir Pirate
Today I did som single sculling in the morning. Only 4 degrees celsius and very windy. My first experience of "the finger heating". First you freeze, then pain and numbness and then after 20 in or so when you have worked the heat up in the rest of the body the fingers get warm again.

I also did my first 1k that I timed (not all out). The result was X:50, where X is eather 3 or 4. At first I thought 3, comparing it with an erg 3:50, but then I asked what others do on water and I'm, starting to lean towards 4:50. Hm...I must time it properly next time.
