To mix my training I prefer to crosstrain. I do 15 min of rowing, 15 min on the stationary bike, 15 min on the treadmill and 15 min in the pool. After a while you start thinking - Hey this could be fun to compete in! Has anyone heard of this kind of indoor quadrathlons?<br />Another idea would be to test the events against the world record in each event and calculate a percentage of the world record. Any other ideas or input?

My idea on a decathlon:<br /><br />Over a period of lets say one month you should record your best time in ten events.<br /><br />The events could be:<br />1. 500 m row on ConceptII<br />2. 2000 m row<br />3. 5000 m row<br />4. 1500 m run on Life Fitness treadmill<br />5. 5000 m run<br />6. 5000 m biking on Life Fitness bike<br />7. 20000 m biking<br />8. 50 m swim in indoor 25-m pool<br />9. 400 m swim<br />10. 1500 m swim<br /><br />The times are calculated against world record time in each event and the total number is you´re decathlon-score.<br /><br />Ex 2000 m row<br />World record = 5:37 min<br />Your time = 6:30 min<br />Score = 86% = 86 points<br />Total score = all ten events points added up.
