First Virtual Team Challenge

Post by [old] mimitap » January 30th, 2006, 9:31 am

As motivating as the JVTC has been, I will be glad to see it over. After I hit my first million last week, my new goal was to be in the top 10 for Fowl Play. I am sort of laughing about it, because I wonder whether the others who are around the same number are thinking and doing the same thing. Put in a load of laundry, row for awhile; get on to row 8,000, push through to 11,000 . . .

So Friday and Saturday I did three sessions each day. Saturday I hit a personal high of 27,298 metres in one day. Sunday I was tired, but got 14,000 done in two sessions. This morning got up early to sneak in 3,000 before work.

So glad there are only 2 days left!

Marie (in Ontario)

It has been fun reading everyone's posts and getting to know a bit about you.

[quote=woolsmith,Jan 30 2006, 01:58 AM]
Aw, shucks, Qwacky! You're turning me into a pink Duck!

Nice job on hitting those goals, girl. I'm always in awe of folks who can really pull those meters, especially so many in a day/week/month like this. Some of the numbers on the board are just incredible. And Fowl Play has been great fun, and lots of folks have impressed me there, too!

You're right though, this challenge has been a great motivator. And it seemed to bring all kinds of nice people out from all over the U.S.A and the WORLD.

yes..and the WORLD..I too am a pink Duck..

Concept2 has brought us ALL together in such a wonderful way.In the spirit of fitness and good health and fun. Thanks to them for this adventure..all due to a very great exercise tool...

Pat

Last Day to Row!!
I'm doing one more row when I get home this evening. I have to say I exceeded my expectations & rowed more for the JVTC than I did for the Holiday Challenge. Woo Ohhh!! So much encouragement really makes a difference. Way to go Fowl Play!
Catherine

I gotta say, I have been so impressed with the Fowl Players. You've all been an inspiration. I've really enjoyed reading everyone's posts which have been filled with encouragement, information, family stories, and humor. I personally want to thank everyone who was willing to join the team and GO FOR IT! Y'all have made this a much easier task, and I certainly appreciate it. I honestly don't think I would have hit my goal without you all.

Thanks, Fowl Players!

GO FOWL PLAY!! ROW! ROW! ROW!

--Jen in WI

Qwacky--are you going to hit a million??? If not don't worry, because you are ONE in a million, feathered friend! Great job leading the flock in the meters category, girl!

Hey Qwacky!

Now you can prop those webbed feet up in a nice swinging hammock in the sun, put on some shades, and sip something tasty!

When is the JVTC officially "done," like no more late meters can be added?

Anyway, for Fowl Play, we have a total as of this point: 11,411,550 meters, which converts to 7,090.81 miles!! The average meters/member is 148,201 meters which converts to 92.1 miles!!

Not toooooo shabby, hey? We covered some ground, er, carpet...or whatever, folks! Hmmm...reality is we didn't really even GO anywhere...but we went far anyways, right?

--Jen in WI

Btw, here's the link to that conversion site for anyone who wants to figure their own distances: http://www.metric-conversions.org/lengt ... les.htm
