I was rowing at a club, got a little coaching etc. We even got some women's classes going. I had a car accident and stopped. When I thought about returning, they had pretty much quit the classes, had most of the ergs hanging on the wall, 'cept for 2 and no one interested! I couldn't believe it! Here are all these people doing all sorts of work outs in a very active club and nobody erging! Well, I nixed the club and bought my own D and I LOVE IT! I have no problem keeping motivated with this site to look in on and all the support C2 gives and all you great people 'round the world, who needs the club! THEY dont know what they are missing. I have talked to a few friends who are still members and one gal at least is now considering her own erg and quitting the club. I find that with my outdoor walking/indoor erging I just have the best of it all.

When at home, I erg at home (bought a C a couple years back). I travel quite a bit with work, so when on travel, I find the nearest erg. I even select hotels based on how convenient erg access is.

I row at noon, during lunch hour, in my office. From Monday to Friday 10K in apx 40 minutes. Then, the weekend for intervals.

I feel so lucky compared to everyone else. I'm a senior in highschool, and I homeschool to boot, so I can row in my own living room anytime I like.

I also am lucky... My family just got an early Christmas present (mostly 4 my sake) but we just got a used c2 model C... It's not even in a cold basement... but is taking up the living room so it's kinda cool... I'm hoping to eventually row in college so I'll have to use it.

I also use the ergs at the YMCA thought as a warmup before working out.

~Sara

At practices at the boathouse and sometimes I go to the gym I have a membership at on off days to get some extra training. I would love to get one for home, but not necessary yet since I can go to the gym whenever I need

It's not exactly my regular gym, but easily the coolest place I've ever erged has been the forward rec lounge of the cruise ship SS Ryndam as it nosed into Glacier Bay, Alaska on a crisp August morning a few years back. Not only were the mountains spectacular, but porpoises and seals were cavorting in the bow waves....

Beats staring at the wall of my office-qua-erg room any day of the week....

Here's a (bad) photo of the Ryndam's gym. You can just see the ends of its two Model Cs on the left side, sticking out above the treadmill....

Dear NavHaz, *green with envy* Having been to GlacierBay, and cruizing up there in Alaska, my hat's off to you for probably the 'coolest' place to erg! Enjoyed just hearing about it!
