Hi,

As a newbie I have taken great interest in the forum, but cannot find a thread/post about this. I have found that on the short distance intervals of 250/500m I am having problems with the mat on the seat of the C2C slipping backwards. I presume this is partly because of the higher stroke rate and explosive nature of the session as well as my (poorly) developing technique.

Other than doing away with the mat - which I find useful for longer sessions, are there any easy solutions?

Any feedback gratefully received

macro

I have a new pad on my D, it's stuck down pretty tight! Good glue! Is your's on perm or do you remove it for certain pieces? Two sided carpet tape is killer stuff.
New pad or old?

It is definitely possible to "jump" off the seat when sprinting, and that would push your pad back if it is not glued down. I would skip the pad for the sprints. Jumping off the seat though is a common technique problem, it happens to me, although not that much in the last couple of years. By jumping up, you are pushing up vertically, which is a waste of energy, since you want to be going horizantally.

You may also want to search for "bum shoving" since that is also a common technique problem and could cause your pad to shift.

Thanks for the comments. The pad is not stuck down, so I will leave it off for sprints/short intervals.

I note your comments about the vertical part of the stroke movement - brings back memories of learning about vectors at school! Obviously needs a bit more work on technique.

Thanks,

macro
