Our primary coxie and her backup aren't available this weekend, so I'm making my debut in the cox' seat (at a svelte 75kg) on Saturday. Our speedcoach doesn't work, so I'm thinking of buying a Garmin Forerunner 101. Has anyone used one on the water? Any advice?

Teh only hitch comes when you are on water with a current, even a small current can make significant differences in pace readings, however it's all relative when going in the same direction.

- Paul Smith

Bought a forerunner in the spring to use in the single (don't know which version) was the best money I ever spent...learned a lot about what does and does not move the boat through the water, keeps me honest too...like the monitor on the erg !!!!!
Nancii
I always set it to Pace/1000m's because that makes sense to me in terms of 2k race times

2-for-2 is good enough for me, so I'll get the 201. Thank you both, PaulS and Nancii.
