75k Challenge

Just for the record:<br><br>On 20/08/04 I completed my self-proclaimed challenge of erging 75 KM in one day to celebrate haveing survived 75 years of existence !<br><br>The object was two-fold: prove that not only can it be done but, more to the point, that I could do it and, to collet some funds for my YMCA's childrens summer camp.<br><br>Stats: 6hr, 42min, 13.2 sec total rowing time with 8 pit stops of 4 min in between 10 sets of 7500 metres, ave /500m at 2:40:8. All the splits were in the 2:39/2:40 range.<br><br>If anyone wants to take a crack at my times, be my guest !<br><br>Peter T<br><br>Good enough for the Guinness Book of Records ?

Congratulations. <br><br><br>75 K at 75 years, Wow, what an achievement.<br><br><br>I don't know about the Guinness book of records, but it sure deserves a pint of Guiness.<br><br>Happy Birthday

Thanks to all who have responded to my 75KM post: I have received guidance from all who post and have incorporated many of the suggested rowing techniques and nutritional information in my training and the BIG day !<br><br>I think that the time has now come to focus on different goals; faster over shorter distances seems to be the next challenge.<br><br>We'll see what transpires over the next few months.<br><br>Again, thanks !<br><br>Peter T
