I believe Krysta is now a LW, or at least is planning on rowing as one on Saturday for the "Virtual CRASH-B Challenge". Krysta, are formal congratulations in order?

:)

Chippy
Hi, chippy, is there a race somewhere soon, just bleep test or other events too? Still only done 1 indoor race (welsh indoors) and was injured and ill then, i'd be well up for another! :?
Owen
Get your self down to the Sutton Arena March 18,its always a good day out. They are running three events this year,1k,the bleep test and the relays :? Going to have a go at the bleep test which i think starts @ 2.30 pace for 1 min, rest 1 min then 2.25 pace for 1 min etc, At 2.00 pace the reduction is 2 seconds.
if you do not finish in the given time you are eliminated.Last year the big guns got down to 1.26 pace. :o

Chippy

So what was your finish time and spm? Did you do much of a warmup? I'm still trying to just plain old HIT 40 min.

So what was your finish time and spm? Did you do much of a warmup? I'm still trying to just plain old HIT 40 min.

I set my C2 pace boat to 1.59.9/500M and built up about a 15 second lead on it and then held on. Initial SPM was about 26 but by about 3k to go I had lost a bit of power and was up to 28SPM to retain the speed. Finished in about 1.54/500 - I didn't really want to empty the tank as I'd feel it too much today which is going to be busy from a work standpoint. Ironically the first 3k was mentally the hardest as you have not invested that much into the row at that time and its easy to give up. Once you pass 5k then its gets pretty straight forward as you have mentally decided to finish it come what may and feel like you can maintain the pace.
