Fantastic, Speedy! Hope you feel OK today after that one. (Was that at 22 spm? )

Martin, congrats on the new Model D!!! That one is staying at your daughter's so you can row while you are visiting? Nice. And great 6K. I can't imagine the surviving the paces you HWs are pulling. With a few days left before 1/1, planning to give it another shot?

I see also Grumpy & Holz updated their 6Ks for Taff Attack. What a team!!!

I have emailed Scott D.--he sure looks like a sub 21 6K to me, don't you Taffs all agree?

I am finishing my HC this afternoon with hopefully an HM PB; it will have to be at 2:07 or less to be better. Then off to my mom's till Tuesday night, and no rower for 3 days! After that nice rest I will give this 6K a 4th go. No promises but I will do my damndest to take of 10 seconds, that's only .5/500m. I am scared to death of it.

If I don't post Wednesday about it I'm probably dead on the rower and noone found me yet.

Merry Christmas to all!

Speedy - Well done fantastic time. I'd be interested in seeing your splits and spms if you don't mind posting them.

Grumpy - doing a 6k on your 68th birthday - YOU ARE NOT WIRED UP

As I promised earlier in the week I've had another go this morning and came in with 20.41.1 (previously 20.49.6) - chuffed with that

This stung a little In fact it stung so much you can humour me and read my splits:

1.45.2 @ 28
1.44.3 @ 28
1.44.1 @ 28
1.43.7 @ 28
1.43.1 @ 28
1.39.9 @ 30

Really pleased to have something in the tank for the last 1k.

Now Mr T back over to you - it's now your turn to re-visit the pain zone Let's have another few seconds off your time - but please, please, please, please, do not beat my time or that gremlin in my head will be nagging me to try and have another go - I just don't want to go there

Gareth - Let's have another big effort and have you go sub 22.00

Carla - Your going to have a crack at knocking another 10 secs off? !! Good luck with that - it would be a superb effort if you could and would give us a great chance of holding on to bronze For a 10 sec reduction negative splitting would me my advice if you need it - 6k is a long way to fly and die.

Happy Christmas to everyone

Paul

Because I havn't trained for so long Im a bit stuck for what pace to run an all out 6K at. I figure Paul B did a 2k at 1:36.2 pace on 4th Dec.

A week later I went 1:43.8 (slower than his 6K today!) for 2k.

Today paul went at 1:43.4 ave which is 7.2 secs slower than his 2k pace

So my 6k must be 1:43.4 plus 7.1 (just to really get the pain going), which is 1:50.9 or 22:10.8 total (30 second improvement on 1st attempt). There I said it now!

Can see why nobody is looking forward to repeat sessions.
