It's nice to see the boat moving faster . Within the next day, they are supposed to post what the challenge will be for February. We'll eventually get a turn to choose what the challenge will be (they take turns with the teams.) We'll have to put our thinking caps on and plan something really dastardly .

On the beer run, it might be fun (and educational ) to check out what types of beer we run across on our world wide tour. Other non-alcoholic drinks would be interesting too for the non-beer fans.

Of course there is food too. I can't remember if our route takes us near the Mediterranean. We've been eating a lot of recipes from the "Mediterranean Vegan Cookbook" since Christmas, good stuff! For our family, I'd like to find recipes from the countries we go through to make the virtual row less virtual .

13k today (1/11) including 2 X 200 @ 1:32.8 pace, pulse 170

Just curious, but would anyone know why some people's metres on the January Challange aren't going up? I know Mark has been doing a lot of rowing and his metres haven't been increasing .

I have entered over 40,000 for him in January in the Cross Canada Row. Most likely reason that his kliks are not showing up is that they are not entered in his C2 log book.

12k for me, just having fun pulling the chain and lifting weights.

Keep on rowin',

Jim
PS Google earth is now available for Mac users, so members of the Eh!team that are mac addicts can now see the cross canada row and the trans atlantic row.

Shannon told me that they have decided the next event for the CTC for February. It's 300 metre (unrestricted- any stroke rate.) Quick bouts of pain . I'm not sure when we'll get to decide what the event will be. This month and next are good for training, but having a distance we could rank would be nice too. I guess we don't have to worry about it yet but I've got one idea already that would be challenging. We could do a combined time of a distance that you would have to do twice in a 12 hour period (ie. 1000 metres twice in one day.) That way we get to have twice the fun . So, it will be probably not be till at least this summer before our deciding time comes and we can see what other teams come up with in the mean time before we can decide that month's torture .

I have switched the format of the google earth download at the Trans Atlantic Row site in order to accomodate the Mac users who were interested in our progress. It will now be a standard download dialog box that appears instead of the boat full of rowers...

Download the file to wherever you want and then click "open".

I hope this is not too inconvenient but it does allow more people to view our progress.

Keep on rowin',

Jim
