Welcome back, Carol. Take it easy on your back.

We are currently tracking down the western border of New Brunswick, or the eastern border of Maine, for any of our American friends reading this post.
Beautiful country.

This is the terrain we would be rowing through now.

On another note, we are on pace for our fastest 1 million meters yet. Our previous record was 14 days for 1 million meters. Our pace now should put us in at 10-13 days.

The virutal Eh!Team continues to grow, with members signing up from around the world.

I will post our membership later on, have to run out to a meeting.

Keep on rowin', hosers.

Jim

[QUOTE]We are currently tracking down the western border of New Brunswick, or the eastern border of Maine, for any of our American friends reading this post.
Beautiful country.[/QUOTE

I canoed the St. Croix River (near Calais) in this area back in the late 70's. It's one of the nicest canoe trips I've ever done, with lots of class 1-2 rapids to make it interesting and lots of wildlife. We saw lots of owls, ospray and bald eagels along with moose.
I'm not sure how a rowing shell would do in rapids. Does anyone know about that? Seems like it would be difficult unless you could turn your boat around and face downstream like when rafting and it would have a fair beam. Someday I would like to purchase a rowing shell. To my knowledge there aren't any in the Yukon, but we have so much water! If anybody has any information about touring boats or contacts, I'd appreciate it. I think it would be really fun to do the Yukon River Quest (the longest cauoe race in the world) that Joe Bishop on our team does, in a rowing shell!

Dec. 22 - 2x6K @ 2:11, 21 SPM and 2:10.5, 20 SPM
2K rest and cooldown

Also tried a 500 sprint after the above - 1:38.9, a new PB but just by a couple of tenths. This is the first sprint work I've done in a long time so I think there is room for a bit of improvement yet.

I just wrote them an e-mail to see if they could ship one up this way, although it will have to be on the 2 year (or so) saving plan. I like the idea that it could be used on the ocean too, since we're only 2 hours away from Skagway Ak. Thanks again! John.

I did 3k this morning but I'm again taking the evening off (back's stiff again.) I got out a video called "Back Care Yoga, for beginners" from the library today. That will be the eveing entertainment for Shannon and I. I'll put on a post after a try or two to let everyone know if it helps.
