Take a photo from the seat of your rower and post it here. If you want to take a pic of your rower and exercise area, that'll work too.

For those who haven't been to Chicago for a while, that's Millennium Park in the lower right. The Art Institute is the jumble of low buildings just to the left of the column. No points for guessing the name of the big black building on the right.
But guessing where you are is more interesting. Is that your office or your apartment? Pretty nice view. I once worked in what was once known as the Standard Oil building, now maybe the Amoco Bldg. You seem to be over in that general direction, is that the top of the prudential building in the foreground? Are you in one of those round towers along the lake? Isn't that Grant Park?

I posted this pic before, but here is my rowing setup:

rowpro setup

I should note that I have upgraded my setup to include an iPod and a Cbreeze. DVD player to row with Xeno may be added shortly.

Millennium Park was carved out of the section of Grant Park that ran along Michigan Ave between Monroe and Randolph.

Below is another pic from my window below showing your old building (now called Aon Center). The Prudential buildings are hidden behind other buildings from this angle, except that the ugly antenna in the middle of the shot sits on top of the original Prudential building.

First, the view from the seat of my erg looking forwards. This is what I see as I row. RowPro runs on the PC monitor you can see below the TV, near the floor.

If I look right, however, I can see the garden!

lowwall - I wish I had a view like that , Id do a lot more rowing than I do. I have a plain wall with a TV mounted onto the wall above the machine which is where I watch American Football that Ive taped over the weekend (yes thats right, there are some English that like your sports ). Pretty crappy view though if Im honest .

That's a great view. I'm getting to Chicago a lot more these days for this committee that I'm on, which is cool, since I really like that city. Actually thinking about looking at a job there.

My view at home is entirely dismal. I am in the basement, without windows, staring at some boxes and many old paint cans on a shelf. I always use an Ipod, and sometimes I will turn off most of the lights and just erg in the semi-dark. When we were remodeling I had it out on the back deck, which was very nice for the scenery (lots of trees, moon, stars) but a pain with weather and covering it up.

At the gym near the hospital, we are now on the top floor, with a commanding view of the playing fields and the University. Very nice, particularly when there are pairs of hawks circling in the updrafts. Had a long communion with a very large preying mantis the other day- how he got to be attached to this window 100 ft up in the air I do not know.

Andrew

Here's my basic setup - reminds for some reason of Rocky with a simple no fuss attitude. With Rocky VI coming out...

Basement is 2 years behind our hopes of being complete. We'll likely complete it once the kids move out... ...they are only 1 and 4 now

While erging, I guess I'm always reminded that I should be renovating or doing laundry. Somehow, that's good motivation to stay on the erg!

Personally, I think if I had a nice mountain view it would want me to get out there and hike, bike, ski or what not - and it would take more will power to stay indoors.

Just need to get a Rowpro setup - maybe a gift to myself if I can crack 7:00....
