from all my daily erging i'm starting to get quite big callouses building up on my fingers .. and they are pretty annoying. Are there any tips for getting rid of them? some magic solution to soak in for example? Or just break out the stanley knife?

Stop your death grip on the handle. I only get callouses at the base of my middle two fingers where the palm skin tends to bunch on the pull. <br /><br /><!--QuoteBegin-busterG+Apr 20 2005, 02:40 PM--><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><div class='genmed'><b>QUOTE(busterG @ Apr 20 2005, 02:40 PM)</b></div></td></tr><tr><td class='quote'><!--QuoteEBegin-->from all my daily erging i'm starting to get quite big callouses building up on my fingers .. and they are pretty annoying. i don't have a death grip on the handle - a very light grip actually. My mistake was to get in the habit of wearing sailing gloves while erging.. and the callouses have been building up where the fingertip-less gloves bunch up..<br />

I've wrapped the handle with nylon socks, which gives me an excellent feel for the handle.<br /><br />An emory board works well to smooth callouses.
