Does anyone have any suggestions for the best erging/sculling gloves. I erg for an hour daily and my Home Depot gloves aren't working out that well. I've also tried my cycling gloves, but they were to bulky.

This summer I am going to a rowing camp, where they say that we'll be doing 4-6 hours of intensive sculling per day. Suggestions as to the best all-around gloves are welcome.

Thanks!

I like wearing gloves for lots of things, including rowing on my erg. Particularly for rowing long distances, I think they help. I don't worry too much about not being a manly man. Although, I have stopped wearing them lately for some reason. I don't notice a big difference callous-wise either way.

I used these:

NRS boaters gloves

The leather is nice, and they are light and comfortable. They have no pad on the palm. The strap is awkward how it wraps around and is stiff. I don't like them for wiping the sweat off my forehead because the velcro strap can scrap your face. I try to wear a sweat band on my wrist for long rows.

Harbinger makes lots of gloves.
I like the Crosstrainers ($7-12) because you can get them wet.
http://www.harbingerfitness.com/flash/c ... tml

After time the leather on lifting gloves bunch up and cause blisters. Plus when they get wet your hands turn black.

Since I started using the Crosstrainer gloves I haven't any hand blisters. I also use them under my Home Depot gloves when I'm working in the yard.

Ordered 2 pair, since I may start outrigger paddling once in a while with my brother-in-law. $30 for tax and shipping for 2 pair, I figured what the heck.
