I did a p.b for a HM rate capped at 20 spm - 1:18:59.7 (1:52.3) against an unrestricted p.b of 1:16:46.4 (1:49.2)

It went well. Since starting up after a stint on the Disabled List I hadn't rowed more than 45 minutes at a time, so this was more of a challenge than it otherwise would have been.

Kept a steady pace intending to keep my heart rate at 70% HRR, and made it to 17k before having to slow down, and then only by 1 second/500m. Satisfied. I'm glad I did it.

Rick

It was a disaster. I started much too fast, and after 13k I met 'the man with the hammer'.
After that my pace dropped from 2:06 to 2:42.
Only the fact that I started the challenge made me complete it.

Congratulations to all those who completed the Summer Solstice Row
I didn't set a PB, but I wasn't expecting to as I don't row until late at night on workdays, when I am quite tired. I did, however, set a SB, and got the mean split down to 2:00, so I was quite happy with that.
Final time was 1:24:23.6.

It went surprisingly well, as I'd never gone much over 10K and/or 45 minutes before. I >paused< at 1/3, 1/2, and 2/3 through to grab some water, but never stopped the clock. The last 4K I kept breaking stride due to butt-ache. I flipped the monitor to show projected time, and drove to get in under 100 minutes. Finished at 98:41.9. Average 2:20.4 / 500 at 28 SPM.
