Crash B's are approaching.
I can already feel the participants getting nervous...
I read this idea some weeks ago in the forum, but as I can't trace it, I will pick it up again:
As many of us won't be able to travel to Boston, it would be a good idea to set up a "Crash-b Challenge".
This means: Do a full-out 2k during feb 25th, and post the result in this thread.
Could also be a good idea to set up some really nice online races on rowpro (hope I'll be able to row online by then...)
Think its's a good way to do a nice actual benchmark.
Who's in for it?

Let's hear your comments!!

Ancho:

I'm in!

I'm doing a venue race that day, so it will even be "RACE" and not "IND".

It would be neat if we could get hundreds of people posting times. I'll even volunteer to keep a (age class/weight class/sex) spreadsheet for all the same categories as at the WIRC. We'd have to trust people to weigh themselves, etc. But, this could be a neat thing.

I'll cross post on the UK forum.

Regards ... Mark

Isn't the Internet great?

I also have a pretty powerful laptop, so 10's of open windows at one time is no problem.

I'll set up a spreadsheet that looks something like the CRASH-B categories. If people can, they should send me their names, sex, age group, expected weight at race time, etc. so I can build an entrants list and we can publish it here ... just for fun. Anyone that's not racing at CRASH-Bs is free to participate, just as long as they row on that day, yes? We should also track PBs that day, just for fun as well.

To see the categories (with a wee bit of explanation), go to:

http://www.crash-b.org/schedule.htm

... and also see last year's results at:

http://www.crash-b.org/results.htm

Any questions? Just PM me, or e-mail me at the address below.

Maybe we can even design a few certificates for the winners to download? And make this an annual virtual event?

Sorry, I like to take ideas and make them bigger ... I'll stop for now!

Regards -- Mark

That's Ancho, racing against Polaco and SP, so take care of yourself! 8)
When will you schedule the rowpro-race?

Rest of data: CEU-rem/Castelldefels-Barcelona/Spain, PB: 6:52,1, 39y on race day, HW

Now, I'd like to see some commitment from your side:
What time are you aiming at?
I expect a sub 6:50...

Would also like to see how many categories we will cover! :?
