Finally the racing season is getting underway this weekend here in the UK. A massive (for a small regional race) 154 people will be racing over the mile distance (1609m) on Saturday, and many more in the 500m, 1min, and relay races.

For competitors see here:
http://www.onlinerowing.co.uk

There promises to be some good races, and some very fast times. Graham Benton is looking good to better his "world's best" mile time, following a test 1250m under 1:25 pace a few days ago.

I had 6 weeks out with a broken 1st metacarpal, and having only been back training for a couple of weeks am not on full racing form. Still looking to pull a respectable mile time close to 5mins.

Pete

Good luck, Pete!
Don't forget to post your results (If you don't, we'll asume they have been horrible )
In CEU-rem we have also recently started the racing season:
Next saturday, 6k race in Amposta, upstream on the river Ebro.
I will be racing with Polaco, "the other" Nacho and Sinu in the coxless 4 (this time absolute, not masters!).

Have fun!

Not sure what my overall time was, but 5:02.x, with an average split of 1:34.1. Having just come back from injury, and with very interupted training over the summer, I am happy with this time.

Splits were:
0-500m = 1:35.0
500-1k = 1:34.9
1k-1500m = 1:33.2
1.5k-1609m = 1:30.8
