Marsha, they lend you one for the duration of the race.

I'd phone Concept2 up and talk to them about the monitor. They are usually very prompt when dealing with problems.

I rowed at the Mid Atlantic Erg Sprints in Alexandria, VA and there were a h*** of a lot a people there. I would say that Diesel is correct. Why sit on your butt and go nowhere when you can get on a pansy trainer and "sweat" for 30 minutes.

American gyms don't seem to have ergs very often. I think the American public has been brainwashed by the commercials with the smiling, beautifully sculpted women doing "easy workouts" on some ab machine. Gyms certainly would not want to show some grimmacing rower dripping in sweat after 2K on an erg.

Maybe the British are a bit misleading too. Don't they refer to gyms as "Leisure Centers"? But, at least most of the leisure centers usually have several ergs.

Cheers,

Paul Flack

hey Paul,

No we have gym's over here and they are called gym's too!

my gym, LA Fitness has 8 erg's all concept2's, 3 x D's 5 x C's

I think every gym in Britain has a number of erg's.

I can't believe that the US gym's are so poorly stocked with them, unbelievable!

And so cheap over there, compared to here.

Someone should tell all those fat ladies that no amount of fancy, no effort, ab machine's will show a six pack until they lose the fat covering it.

Yep, I signed up on Monday. I won’t be well trained and definitely not rested, but it will be a good event to attend and soak in the atmosphere. I expect this event will really get me in the mood for next year.

John
