Last Monday, 10/24/05 I did a legit 6:33.2 2k trial as a 60-64 Male Hwt.

I also did (legit) 6:38.1 on 10/10/05 and 6:35.2 on 10/17/05 on prior Mondays.

I thought I had a good shot at 6:28 (1:37 pace) today (Monday) but that was too aggressive a step improvement for now. I crashed and burned after passing 1500M at 4:51 (on pace -- but the whole piece was uneven (1:36-1:38) and just didn't settle in well). I probably could have pulled it in at 6:30 or 6:31 but I was mentally bonked and needed some competitive juices with a cheering section to keep me going the last 500.

But no excuses -- even 6:33.2 is wicked fast for this early in the season and no 500s and only 2 sets of 1000s (both at where I ended past seaons just before CRASH-Bs) interval training workouts that I used to do before USIRDT workout suggestions.

Apparently the 2001 listings for MHW 60-69 have been corrupted, such that the first 11 times are actually by much younger rowers. For example, the table thinks Klaus Geiger's 5:57 was rowed by a 64-year-old....
