I know a hand full of older people who have needed hip replacements. Some of them were physically active, runners, rowers, skiers, bikers, etc.

Was wondering if to much stress on the hip joint from excercise can result in the necessity of replacement surgery....

If so, what should we do to avoid this outcome????

Hip replacement seems to be very common in our aging population, as do other joint replacements. I'm inclined to believe that it has more to do with living longer and the desire to stay more active than with simply being active. This is just my opinion however.
