I would assume that since staph or other bacteria can enter the body from a small cut or wound, and that sting ray spines cause puncture wounds, one could get a nasty infection from one. Its why in Florida, we do the "Stingray shuffle" during ray season. If you shuffle, they know you're coming and will subsequently move....unlike the sweaty slob in the gym who refuses to wipe the machine down.<br />
