Awesome! You're doing great! I understand about life getting in the way sometimes, (happens all too often to me!), but you're doing a great job!

managed to get the 20 km in for last week , joined the local gym and tried their modern erg and got a bit confused by the different display ,the damper and the SPM, which seemed way higher than my antique C2. Does any body know how model B compares to model d in terms of performance?
KathiS, I have been inspired by your story too,you are a great role-model and I think I will use you as a target in the rankings.hope you don't mind?it is meant as a compliment and I don't see me catching up quite yet Corina

I don't mind at all and am actually quite flattered! I find myself using other people quite often to keep me motivated. Right now, Mallard is keeping me on my toes trying to stay ahead of her on the total meters for the team. She was ill last week and unable to row for a few days, but I am glad to see she is rowing again and right on my tail!! I am going to have to work really hard to stay ahead of her!

(Thanks Jenny for the motivation extra motivation, and I have very happy to see you are rowing again!)
I'm back!!!

Had to really, cos Kathi is just streaking away ahead of me! It really is very good motivation - just a few days away from the erg and you topple down the team table, and from one honours board to the next!

Kathi - glad I'm keeping you on your toes You are certainly keeping me on mine. How much further to go before the 1M mark? Keep up the good work - what sort of sessions are you doing? Most of my work is UT2 for about an hour or so, or a bit of UT1 with a shorter spell of UT2. I find that working with the heart rate monitor means that - even when recovering from being ill - I can adjust my workout so that I don't overdo it.

I've got to pile on the metres this end of the week as we've got a day at Chelsea Flower Show on Friday , so no rowing Thursday or Friday

I've seen this on other posts and have never figured out what it means.

I am about 55K from my million meter mark! I will look forward to trying to catch up with you after my week of very little rowing!!

I know this is not strictly speaking a rowing Pb, but I have to crow (quack) about it somewhere:I CAN RUN. Suddenly this morning I went out for a run and found that I could run/jog continuusly, rather than the jog 100paces/walk 50 paces that I have been doing so far. As I had a achilles tendon repair 10 months ago,I have had to be very careful and have put in a lot of CV training on the erg. It has obviously paid off !! 44 years old and I have never been this fit or even conceived of the possibility of being this fit. I am just so amazed. Inspired by some of you water rowers ,I have also started making enquiries at the local rowing club. Corina

Great, Corina!
You'll have big fun rowing on water:
If sailing on a boat isn't swimming, working out on an erg isn't rowing.
Both are great, but which one is better?

Have a nice row (and jog!!)

I am getting my successes in fast and furious at the moment. Realised that there were about 5 women within a 5 sec margin on the rankings on 2K, so i decided to go for it at the Gym ,as my C2 hasn't got a damper and feels about the equivalent of a 9,which gets a bit tiring. Well, I managed to get my Pb 2K under 10 mins(9.49,7) and jump up a few notches on the rankings. One target reached, so 9mins here i come! Corina

WooHoo.....a new best time today. 23:34.9 in the 5000. I didn't even get on it with any intention of besting myself. I was just trying to get in a quick workout to get outside and help with the lawn since it's Father's Day tomorrow. You just never know where the motivation will come from.

I did my first half-marathon this morning, for the summer solstice challenge. It took me 1 hr, 48 min, 46.5 sec, but I was pretty happy just to finish. Now I've got to set my sights on a full marathon. I printed out my Summer Solstice Challenge Certificate and put it on the fridge, to motivate me to go for the full marathon. Maybe next month...

2k test today. 7:34 down from a previous pb of 7:40. Working towards 7:20 and getting there...slowly. That hurt a lot.
