Is The Lake To Cold?

Last week the subject of remote temperature sensing came up on the cold water immersion thread. At the time, I mentioned that there were units available for this, but I didn’t have any details. Yesterday, I was in town, so I took the opportunity to drop into the local Ace hardware and check them out. The brand name is Taylor and they are under 30 dollars. The sensor that comes in the standard package is not submersible, but the packaging describes an accessory sensor that has a waterproof cable for submersion. I couldn’t find anything about the range of this device, but I doubt that it would be much over 20 yards. Lake front dwellers who are interested could probably get that information over the net.<br /><br />Bob S.<br />
