Ok, did a short and slow one today....the muscle under my left arm hurts pretty badly. Combination of the move and the first row back yesterday. Other than the hurt arm everything else felt better than yesterday.

21:07.2
3633 meters
2:54.4/500m avg
19 s/m avg

Hope everyone has a great day!

AM Workout: warmup + 40min Wolverine plan Level 4 + cool down = 12625 total

BIG MILESTONE: This put me over 15 million meters logged!

Wheeeee! Will row another 5K or so after work to celebrate.
('course that's only since I've been using the C2 online log in the past few years - would have several times 15 million if I'd logged the first 26 or 27 years of rowing before that!).

Snappyrower - Hi! Here's the Wolverine plan stored in the old forum
Wolverine Plan
It's the training program that used to be used by the University of Michigan women's crew. The plan is about 20 pages long! So to give a short, managable answer, the Level 4 about which I've posted before is low stroke rate (16 to 24) high power pieces, 40 to 60 min put together. Sort of the base of the training scheme (50 to 60% of workouts) and the other sessions each week are higher stroke rate, some medium intensity, some high intensity. Mike Caviston, who authored the plan, posted on the forum suggested sets of workouts for rowers doing 6, 8, 10... workouts a week. I can't find that post, though - but will try again to find it for you.

Carole - great to read you're "recovering" from vacation - probably hard to return to form after a great time in OZ! Cheers!
Mary P.

Thanks MaryP. I think the plan is a bit beyond my ability at this point, but good food for thought. Will file it away for future reference. Thanks.

Ok, here it goes for Saturday: Did a 5k in 28:48.8 (that included the warmup in the 5k), and then did 516 meter cool down in 3:22.6

Anyone else out there rowing today?

I did my first 10K workout ever today... and I survived! Since I made it up to 8.5K earlier in the week, I thought I'd give a full 10K a try before the end of the season. It was an interval session, not rank-worthy, but I rowed every single one of those meters, goshdarnit.
Now I am going to reward myself with several bourbons-and-coke and some cake.
Y'all have a great weekend!

Yay Dawn! Enjoy that cake and the bourbon and cokes! That 10k sure does feel like an accomplishment, huh? I've only done one so far, a few weeks ago and it felt good. Trying to work myself back up to one now....maybe sometime next week.

Ok, my first row of the new year: 5k, did it in 30:11.3, and that was a pretty slow, and sad effort for me. Had a tiring weekend, so I'm just glad to finally get my first row of the season in.

Otherwise, I'm starting to wonder if this thread has died....should I start posting on the regular Training thread?

Hello snappyrower....

Keep on rowing, you do just well, 'it important to keep on even if you have tiring other activities.
I left my erg for some time since I'm doing most on water pieces at the moment. Now I'm resting a week because this weekend I go for the famous Dutch "Elfsteden rowmaraton of 220 km on the lakes, canals and rivers of Friesland, the Netherlands. We do it with 100 boats, each boot has four rowingcrews who do the distance "in estafettestyle" The distance will take approx 20 hours and it is a match.

Oh lady-rowers think on me when I'm rowing on that dark lake to do my piece of 60 km...coming friday night. I'll let you know how it was. Untill that, no more erging or rowing.

Greetings, Ank
(She's crazy isn't she?
