I DID IT !!!!!

Can't tell you much about it as I am late picking up the boys from school. Time of 3:50.42.0, munched my way through a packet of dextrose tablets, 2 fruit bars and a banana and took on loads of water.

Good luck to everyone else who is going for it at the weekend.

Catch you soon.

Jenny

Ps also did a 500m PB yesterday evening, but did not dare own up to it in case I did not complete the marathon. 500m 1:48.9

Looking forward to a restful weekend!

Yay, Mallard! Only 6 days into the new season and you're already kicking some serious a$$.

Good luck to the rest of you (KathiS, Bufflehead) who will be doing marathons or HMs soon - you have my utmost respect! Maybe in a year or two I'll try it out with you. I have yet to accomplish a continuous 10K, but it's a short-term goal.

Dawn

I did it!!! I completed the marathon! My time was 3:52:34.0!!! I took almost a half hour off from my time last week!

It was great! I never got off the rower this time, and it made all the difference in the world! My daughter watched movies with me, and it was extremely helpful to have someone with me throughout the whole thing! I rowed one-handed while drinking water/Gatorade. Wow... I feel great, but I stink, so I'm gonna take a shower now! I just had to let y'all know that I survived!

Hey Ritz! Way to go!! I did it too!
All of our times are really close - I managed 3:51:34.7! I stayed on the rower the whole time too, but I stopped for my breaks. I managed to row on the water for two hours this morning in a four seat boat before doing my marathon. I don't feel too bad - all things considered. I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward to being a couch potato for the rest of the evening!

What a great start to the new rowing year!
Thanks to all of you who gave us support and encouragement. It sure helped knowing folks were cheering us on!

The Tired Old Buffle

Great job Buffle! You are right, our times are all very close!

I now have about 180,000 meters to row before June 5th to make my million meter goal! I'm gonna have to row my little heart out for the rest of this month to make it!

Ditto on the thanks to everyone for cheering us on! Finding this forum and joining the ducks has really created a constant inspiration for me!
