Hi,

I finally made lightweight! Yay! I changed my weight in my Control Center and it lists me as lightweight there, but when I sign up for online races, I am still listed as heavy . Does anyone know how to get it to list me as lightweight in Oarbits races?

Thanks,

Shannon
Oops, never mind. I got it to work! It tried closing RowPro and my Internet browser and restarting them, and then it worked. It looks much better to see Lite after my name instead of the dreaded Heavy!!

Shannon

When you said yesterday you were 135.5 I almost thought of hopping on the erg with a couple sweaters on and doing 10k to see if I could beat you to the line (I was 136.5!). I am still not quite there yet, but now I HAVE to get to lightweight in short order. Sibling rivalry is great incentive...

Anyway, big congrats again!

- Krysta

Thanks Krysta! No hard feelings eh? I must admit that when I was so close yesterday and you were too, I thought, "I've got to beat Krysta!!!" No way I could ever do it in rowing, so I'll settle for first to lightweight!

You'll get there soon, all you have to do is avoid those binges!

Shannon

Congrats Shannon! Way to go! I'm coming along behind you two. I've finally got the scale consistently registering under 140, so that's progress. It's good to see it moving because it had been going back and forth in the 140 - 142 range forever.

Question - in racing do you have to be able to weigh in as lightweight right before the race, or can it be a first thing in the morning weight? Just curious.

Krysta:

Today, Ontario Championships, weigh in any time after 7:30 AM and before your race ... which could have been very late afternoon.

Last week, Midwest Championship Erg Sprints, same deal ... weigh in any time from opening of venue to race.

Cincinnati Satellite, 29 January, weigh in no LATER than 1 hour before one's race, if memory serves me.

How's that for variety?

ADVICE: Read the event rules closely on this aspect of LW racing. There appears to be no "standard" way to do this.

Regards ... Mark

And congrats on your latest race this last weekend. Even though it wasn't a PB, anything near to one's PB (your 3rd best 2k ever?) is surely a good hard effort.

Spurred on by my sister's success, I finally made my scale read 135 lbs for the first time this evening at 5pm. My race is not until Saturday, leaving me 5 days to lose a little more and get a safety margin.

- Krysta

So it's another way to connect besides phone, e-mail, letters ... cool.

We do live quite a ways away from eachother but I am flying up there to visit for a couple weeks after AIRC. Shannon has two ergs at her house, so we're going to be doing a whole lot of ranked races together to get our new lightweight times for the Nonathalon and C2 rankings.
