Mark, Joe and I did a mile (1609m) and 2K cool down QRs without a problem. Mark and I were running RP V2.0 and Joe is still on V1.8. Mark race mastered the mile and Joe did the 2K so it looks like either version will work together out in the real world. I even false started for the 2K and we recovered and started normally. The results were saved too.

Now if I could only row fast without coughing I'd be ready for the CRASH-Bs.

Frank

Frank:

Have you been ill, or was this comment directed at the "1K hack" which can now also be named the "mile hack" ... I've had a sore thoat and cough since we finished. I must admit, the first 500M of our cool down was somewhat painful ... a strange sensation ... plenty of lactic to move through the veins or arteries (I forget which) I guess.

Yes, RP V2 seemed to work flawlessly today ... with QRs as well as false starts ... no hiccups at all. I need to figure out the broadcast camera thing ... is it the checkbox in the setup section that needs to be checked in order to turn it on?

Is there any way for RP to set up handicap starts for us when/if we do a handicap series within a racing series again? I remember seeing something about this on a forum somewhere, but cannot find it now.

Thanks for racing with a slowpoke.

Regards -- Mark

Yes, I've had a lingering cough from whatever it is I caught from anyone of several people at work. Only really felt sick for 2 or 3 days but just have this cough that really kicks up when I start pushing it on the erg. Doctor says the symptoms are continuing from 2 to 6 weeks. It's been about 2 weeks for me now it can end anytime. If I don't improve it may be tough to break 7 minutes at the CRASH-Bs which is something I've been able to do anytime I've wanted the past couple of years.

I'm very happy with RP V2 today though. I need to play around about to check out new features and fixes.

Frank

Great Program!!! . Hope you both( Frank and Mark) are felling better soon. Those lingering coughs etc have hit many people this winter. I have checked out RP V2 and it looks very cool . I am going to do an SR tomorrow and really see how it works. I also thought the pricing was very fair too. Look forward to seeing you guys online!! Drink a lot of OJ!

My first impressions of V2 are good, although I am having trouble activating it. I am just running it as a demo now, until they get back to me.

As for the broadcast camera view - I think it will be nice for a close race. It has a nice view of the bow tips that really makes you want to pull ahead of the competition. However, if you aren't going to be anywhere near the front of the pack, you do spend a lot of time looking at the leader's boat. And when the leader crosses the finish line, it just stays on a view of the finish for the rest of the session. As I was doing a slow 10k today, this was like 10 minutes or more that my boat was no longer in the picture. Still, as I said, I think it will be really nice when I do some tight races or training sessions with Anne, or for a handicap race where there is potential for neck-and-neck finishes.

- Krysta

In the mile race that we did we were spaced far enough apart that the Broadcast camerawork did not show the bow tips. In the 2K cool down trying to get closest toe 9:00 exactly Mark and I were within a meter of each other and just a short distance behind Joe so it kept zooming in on our bow tips. As Krysta says that view would be perfect for close races.

Another feature of the Broadcast view the Sir P mentioned is that it gives the leaders split every 500 meters and then the other rowers time in seconds behind the leader. I'm in Ron's hour row tomorrow and it should be interesting to see what happens when we get really spread out.

Frank

I did not wait for that but just went back to the "my product key" page and the upgrade button was there. I then paid for my upgrade and could activate.

Hope that helps,
Holm
Brilliant programme, good money well spent although I can see I'm going to end up overtraining.

Everytime I end up on line I finish up racing someone :D
