Hei,
please be honest. Can I participate on the HM? I am much slower than you guys. My time: 1:37:04 in LeTour. Would mean, all of you have to wait quite a bit. So please be honest.
Christine

So if you are rowing at 0430, I'll be rowing yesterday at the same time as you are rowing tomorrow, right?

Cheers,
Jeff

Maybe Sir Pirate's time travel fantasy is working.

Christine - I'd certainly be more than willing to have you join and to wait for your handicap time to elapse. The only thing we'd have to remember would be to turn off all screen savers and maybe to push a button on the PM2+ every couple minutes. But sure, that would work just fine!

Please join us!

Ahhhh . . . 0430 "PM" GMT. When I think of GMT I think of 24 military time and missed the pm. So 0830 am west coast time USA. That is still doable for me, but awfully early for a weekend

Jeff

Ok - so after the barrage of timezone translations, let me try to assess where we stand:

Handicap Half Marathon
Date: Saturday, January 015th
Time: 1630GMT = 0830 pacific = 1130 eastern

Rowers indicating interest:
Ernie
Alain
Jeff
SteveV
Phil
Christine
Coach Gus?
myself

Wow - if all are truly game for this, we could have a nice full race!

I'm happy to admin, but want to check the time first. I believe Jeff was whining about it being too early in the morning or something . But Jeff, given your exceptional ability in the longer distances, you'll probably be able to sleep in an extra 30 mins. Perhaps you could get someone to log on and check in for you while you get your beauty sleep? (Seriously, I'm not one to talk - performance here drops way off in the early morning hours.) So are we really ok for 1630 GMT?

Also, I was going to set this up on the old e-row server. Do we lose anybody that might be planning to join via RowPro?

Think hard about your target times folks - no sandbagging allowed! It'll be quite nice to all finish near one another after such a long row...

I'm not really that excited about an all out HM at this point in my training. So unless other RP users are also involved, don't change on account of me. (Whew! I think I got out of that one and I even sounded like a nice guy!)

Are we using our best HM time since May 1st 2004 or this year?

Sir Pirate

Sir Pirate- LOL - if you've already got an HM in this year, you've done more than most! I suggest season best (season starting May 1, 2004), or all-time PB, whichever you deem closest to your current fitness level. Remember, no sandbagging!

Just looked at my log and it shows that I have only done 2 HM's since April 2004, both within the last 2 weeks , the quickest being 80:14.4, I will beat that as it was done at a low rate. I will put down 79:00mins as a target if that is OK.

My PB is 77:51.5 should I put that as my target?

Sir Pirate
