I agree with Mark, Marilyn and Nigel on the server issue. Races held at the new server at digitalrowing are still unstable as soon as there are rowers involved that are running RowpPro. eRow has a lot of small little flaws but it's reasonably stable and predictable. When running a race with up to 8 people, where everyone is well prepared and ready to race I don't want to take any chances.
I also agree that loosing the option to customize your rowing name is an unacceptable regression. People use this creatively and it's one of the few tools to express oneself or to add useful information to the race entry (like handicap wait times etc).

QUOTE

Cees Rerow tool works for the new server too. He has a button on the page to "switch servers".

Tom's correct, you can now easily switch between race servers (or open both of them simultaneously in 2 separate browser windows). Races are conveniently listed in your local time and you can easily create or join races on the rowpro server. An inline link to the digitalrowing forum is provided as well. Try it at: www.rerow.com/erow

QUOTE

... I believe the PM3 only works with RowPro ...

Currently eRow is not compatible with the PM3 and there are no official plans to make it compatible. However since the interface specification is public it doesn't seem inconceivable to create an application that performs as a layer between eRow and the PM3....

Whatever you fancy. Definitely no obligation to race though I suspect Thomas and Paul could be both pushing it at a similar pace .

I am going to do some 1k intervals ( 1k hard 1k steady ) within the 6k as part of my 2k training.

Nigel.

I was thinking of trying out RowPro with the e-rowers. But, I finally figured out it only works the other way round. E-rowers would have to row on the new server in a race that I set up. Its too late now to change everything. So I will see you this afternoon (evening for you) and have a go at the old tried and true method of virtual rowing.

Sir Pirate, I was planning on doing a steady 1:45. I tried a steady 6K @ 1:44 yesterday and didn't make it all the way since I still have a bit of a cold. So, I will back off a notch today now that I won't have a pace boat and my two previous best 6Ks racing me in a private RowPro regatta.

Cheers,

Paul Flack
