Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays Team Row Pain Row Gain.

I wanted to thank C2 for getting my Holiday challenge sweatshirt to me in time to get the box under the tree, and I didn't push over the 200k mark until 8:00 PM on the 21st!

The model D was an early Christmas present in November for my wife and I, but the real gift is in how much better I feel about myself. So far I'm down 8 lbs, and I feel a good bit stronger than when I started. I'm looking forward to keeping it up in the new year.

I didn't complete the challenge until 6pm on the 24th. My times really went down, so now I'll start interval training as well. I'd really like to increase my speed. Those of you who row intervals, how do you 'log' your meters? Do you log each interval time? Just wondering. Happy holidays to all!
Meri

I got 464,141m for it.

I log each seperate interval - that way if I'm doing, say, 500m intervals and get a PB on one of them it's easy to rank the PB interval.

Merry Christmas to ALL
I'm baaackk!
First an apology to Robin (my rowing partner) for bailing on her. Was feeling sorry for myself, not able to get to the gym after going back to work. After gaining back 10 lbs. was wallowing in self pity. My wonderful husband surprised me with a Concept 2 for xmas and my children wished they had my response on video (Holy @*&/! ) when I saw the Concept 2 written on the outside of the box. I actually cried!
Rowed for the first time in almost 4 months and I am sooooo bad, but it feels so goood to be back sliding on my a#* again! I missed you all! I'll have to spend the next few weeks catching up on everyone's progress since (do I dare say) last August.
Mary
(Artmom5)
OK- I think I just joined the 'team'. I missed the holiday challenge, but I'm up for what's next. The rower has been in the back room for the last couple of weeks, with family over, and no room to have it out. and I have to admit, it hasn't seen much activity. Hope to start back again tomorrow. but I am new to doing any serious rowing, and hope to manage 2k in the morning, and 2 to 4k in the evening for a start. not sure how the 'virtual team' concept works, but I'm willing to give it a try. also trying to drop the 15lbs I put back on over the last 2 years after having lost 30 on the South Beach diet. I bought the rower last winter, after finding the walking program I was on for weight loss had me at the doctors due to extreme foot pain and ended up wearing orthotics - my feet were "collapsing"- the doc's terminology. so now I am hoping to start a regular routine of rowing.

Weight Loss/ Weight Control

Post by [old] Charlie Lear » January 11th, 2006, 9:15 pm

Hi guys, thought I'd add my considerable weight to the team. I've always been a heavy 6ft2in, but at times have been very fit. Stopped working out four years ago and have stacked on the pounds and lost all aerobic fitness. Right now I'm just on 136kg/300lbs and could do with losing almost a third of that.

I started with an easy 500m today on a hire rower, we'll see if I can get my 2000/2001 rankings back. My goal is to build fitness so I can help coach my sons' football teams this year without being the "Who is that puffing purple guy lying down over there?"

Regards
Charlie
[

Send me your first name, last name, e-mail address and online ranking id # and I'll add you to my JVTC team.
[/quote]

Thanks for the invitation. I've just added a virtual partner (thanks, artmom!) so that will, hopefully, motivate me to keep rowing, so will stay with this team for now. I've gained back some of the weight I lost after the Holiday Challenge, so need to keep track of calories as well as meters!
Meri
