Interval Limit on LogCard
1. Is there a utility I could use to enter workouts on my LogCard without connecting a PM4, since they belong to my gym, and not me personally?
2. Is there a way I could have more than 30 intervals on my LogCard?
I'm new to using LogCards. I have one, and a card reader, so I can go to the gym at work, and use one of the ergs with PM4s. I have the Concept2 Utility on my computer here at work.
I have a workout schedule from my coach which shows workouts each day as equivalents to the Variable Interval workouts on the PM 4..
example day:
2000 m, 75 sec rest
4 x 250m, 60 sec rest
2750 m, 75 sec rest
250 m, 60 sec rest
(This is equivalent to 7 intervals, if I add it as one workout)
What I would like to do:
Be able to load my workouts for the 5 workdays onto my LogCard, so I don't have to carry papers to the gym to enter them in on the PM 4.
Given that there is a logcard limit to 30 intervals, I can't save more than one or two workouts on the card as favorites, since sometimes the workouts include a couple sets of intervals in the total, and I've used up to 16 intervals on the PM4 when entering them.
It seems like 30 intervals is a small amount, since my logcard is only holding a total and one or two workouts on it, and is only showing abour 3% used, since I use the reader to upload the data to the Online Logbook.
Am I being unreasonable in the request? I don't think I need all the memory on the Log Card if I'm regularly doing the upload... It's the ease of changing workouts on the card that's a bit clunky.

1. Get an OmniKey card reader and you can read, backup, reformat and maintain your LogCard at home. Take the card into the gym and you can record them on the PM4. I use that every day, it works well.JenSanborn wrote:1. Is there a utility I could use to enter workouts on my LogCard without connecting a PM4, since they belong to my gym, and not me personally?

Costs $16 http://cgi.ebay.com/390286486335
2. That's an architectural limitation and a function that matches how the PM2/PM2+ works. Row one workout of 30 reps/intervals at the end it's in the PM3/PM4 memory. During the 30th rest interval go ro Main menu --> Select Workout --> Rerow.
Unless you're doing something crazy like 30 sec on/30 sec off intervals you should be able to time the thirtieth interval by the wall clock while you're choosing re-row from the menu.
Re: Interval Limit on LogCard
The 30 interval limit is for each individual workout, not for the card. Do you have workouts that have more than 30 intervals? That would be unusual.

No, I don't have more than 30 intervals per workout, but I seem to only be able to save three workouts on my card, and only if there are 30 or fewer total intervals in those three workouts. I seem to have trouble trying to delete workouts off the PM4s at the gym, so I can save the workouts on my log card.
Aargh.

Put the Logcard in
Choose Logcard from the welcome screen
Choose Logcard Utilities
Choose Move workouts
Move your workouts from PM4 memory to your logcard.

Main menu --> Select workout --> Intervals:Variable should work for 30 reps regardless of how you program each rep.
